Tourism, one of the vital industries in Nepal with loads of prospects, paved the way to the establishment of REBAN (Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal). Restaurant business is an integral part of the tourism industry, and this community was established by restaurant and bar entrepreneurs in November 1995.

The team worked to fulfill the following objective:
• To upgrade standards of Restaurants and Bars
• To enhance mutual cooperation, understanding and goodwill between the entrepreneurs in this field.
• To produce trained manpower and motivate them for the cause of tourism
• To administer hospitality to the visitors, so that it adds a positive vibe to their expectation

Since its inception in 1995 REBAN has been concentrating its activities in providing, in-services trainings to the staff of its member restaurants. This was done in order to upgrade the skills in their respective fields. It has been organizing food festivals in major cities of Nepal to make people tickle their test buds to varieties of food that are available in the restaurants in Nepal. It has also been participating in the festive abroad to provide an exposure to the authentic Nepalese cuisine.

Adding to the glorious past of REBAN, Pokhara chapter has been organizing festival and events at regular intervals. REBAN Pokhara till date has organized 12 street festivals. The 13 Pokhara Street Festival is scheduled from 28th December 2011 to 1st January 2012.
